The MSC has plenty of room for the CARC stations to set up for the 24 hour Field Day event. Click on the left pictures for more views of past Field Days at the MSC.

Long wire dipole antennas along with an HF beam and a portable tower is erected on Saturday morning prior to the start of the event.

Field Day Operation Notes

Field Day enables Amateur Radio stations to practice emergency communications in a temporary environment situation. To simulate the loss of an infrastructure power source, generators are used to power the radio communications equipment.

Points are acquired by making radio contacts and exchanging contact information with other Amateur Radio stations participating in the 24 hour Field Day event.

At the close of the event, the contact information or also known as the Station Log is sent to the ARRL Amateur Radio Relay League. The ARRL then compares all the participating station logs and compiles the matching contacts into points and awards the high point stations.

The Chelsea Amateur Radio Club would like to thank the MSC for the use of their facility again this year.
